BYPASS SURGERY

Bypass surgery

Bypass surgery has become a more common approach to treating peripheral arterial disease(PAD). Bypass surgery for PAD is ordinarily done by removing the blockage in the artery and then rerouting blood flow around it. This procedure can be used on either leg or arm arteries, depending on where the blockage occurs. This treatment can improve the circulation of oxygen-rich blood to the limbs, which may help prevent complications associated with peripheral arterial disease.
